Access Guide – Counselling at Spiro Clinic, Lower Galdeford, Ludlow
Spiro Clinic (SY8 1RT) is located at the rear of the Smithfield Car Park, behind the Elim Church, and adjacent to JD Motors.

There is car parking in front of the clinic building for those with additional mobility or access needs. There is the public car park (Smithfield) less than 100 metres of the building.

The front doorway to the clinic is 88cm wide (door opens inwards to almost 180 degrees); with just a storm threshold and is level access therefore fully wheelchair accessible.

The entrance hall is approx. 3 metres wide at its narrowest point, and from this there is a 79cm wide doorway (opening outwards to almost 180 degrees) into the accessible toilet (the room measures 1m10cm by approx. 2 m with a wall mounted grab rail to the right / lever grab rail to the left / left transfer space (53cm between radiator and toilet seat)

Standard gender-neutral toilets are also available with step free access.
The counselling room is accessed via a 76cm wide doorway (door opens to 90 degrees, the threshold is 2cm and fully wheelchair accessible), the room measures 3 metres by 6 metres at its narrowest. There is a tub chair as standard for people to use, however this can be moved with plenty of space remaining if people wish to remain seated in their wheelchair.

The lighting level of the room can be adjusted to accommodate any light sensitivity.
If needed, an alternative room with a wider 135cm (double door) opening can be reserved for counselling at specific times with advanced notice.
Please note, there is not a hearing loop system in-situ, and the main clinic reception is accessed in a room off the entrance hallway via 2 steps (with a grab rail on the left), however, to access the counselling service, there is no requirement to use the reception.
